I had my first proper astrology reading at 20, off the back of a painful breakup. I'd always dabbled in the stars — tracking moon cycles, keeping an eye on Saturn — but sitting across from someone who could articulate things I'd never been able to express about myself was liberating, and it changed my direction completely.
Not long after that, I packed up my life and moved to a cattle station in outback Australia. My time there involved full days of intense physical labour, vast amounts of silence, and not much to do other than think, read the stars and write - I wrote constantly, until one day there were no words left. I wrote myself back to reality and accepted what was behind me and chose to embrace what was ahead. In the silence and with what I had heard about what was written in the stars for me, I started to understand myself in a way I hadn't before. What started as a season of healing slowly grew into a deeper curiosity about what drives us as people, why we relate to people the way we do, and how understanding these parts of ourselves can help us to live life in alignment with our purpose.
